Loc. Massoni, 58025 Monterotondo Marittimo (Grosseto) - Italia
San Ottaviano is the perfect location to explore this special area of Tuscany. With a short drive, one is able to reach beautiful beaches (Follonica, San Vincenzo, Cala Violina), medieval hill-top towns (Suvereto, Massa Marittima, Volterra, San Gimignano), parks (Le Biancane, Montioni, San Silvestro), and important vineyards (Petra, Rocca di Frassinello, Argentiera, Gualdo al Tasso - just to name a few).
|Property||Our 26 apartments, housing from 2 to 8 people in each, are divided into two areas: San Ottaviano and Podere I Massoni. San Ottaviano is the main historical building where the reception, brewery and restaurant are housed. Massoni, named for the giant boulders found in this area, is 300 metres away in a quiet olive grove. These apartments have been more recently renovated.
Both areas have their own large panoramic pool and BBQ sites. The apartments at San Ottaviano are part of our B&B, where breakfast is included in the cost of your stay. At I Massoni, breakfast is not included, but our guests have the option of adding it if they wish.
|View||View of the hills, swimming pool, grounds.|
|Outdoors||Swimming pool (seasonal), sun loungers, deck chairs, BBQ. The closest beaches are about 30 km away and are some of the prettiest in Tuscany: the Gulf of Follonica, the Gulf of Baratti and San Vincenzo. The first two have received the Blue Flag for their sandy beaches with a view of Elba. The depth of the water near the shore on these beaches is low enough for children to play and swim.
Follonica and San Vincenzo are also great for shopping and nightlife.
|Amusement||We offer guided tours and tastings in our on-site agricultural artisanal brewery, horseback riding lessons and trail rides at our stables, delicious Tuscan dishes in our km0 restaurant, two 17 x 8 metre pools, miles and miles of marked trails through woods and fields, and many farm animals to visit! (cows, horses, pig, chickens, donkeys, bees, and our dog, Petra!). Also featured on the property are our large event room, common room with a television, ping-pong tables and a pool table.|
|Food, restaurant, bar||Restaurant and brewery (la Birra de’Neri, our craft brew, always on tap); tea and coffee making facilities. Buffet breakfast included in price for guests at San Ottaviano from 08:30 to 10:00.
Our restaurant is located in the old oil mill of San Ottaviano and offers unique Tuscan dishes specialising in fresh pasta, local meats, vegetarian options and specialty recipes using our beer. The olive oil, honey, beef, jams and seasonal vegetables come directly from the farm.
The restaurant is open 6 nights a week, and sometimes features BBQ night, or a special themed dinner. When our kitchen staff takes a break, we offer our guests homemade take-away pizzas in our ancient wood fire pizza oven!
|Internet & media||Free wi-fi is available to guests outside and in common areas. There is a common room with a TV. In keeping with our green/organic philosophy, there are no TVs in the apartments - great for a digital detox.|
